Cycling glamour came to Sheffield City Centre in the shape of the Sheffield Cycling Grand Prix which is part of the National Circuit Series.
It was an early start at around 5.30pm with Junior races, then female and men's seniors races with racing finishing at about 9pm.
I was out cycling in a small group, and we cut the ride short to travel in to Sheffield City Centre to support James and Jack Hartley who were racing in the Senior men's race.
Brothers James and Jack are well known in Sheffield being both really talented riders and also great mechanics.
So it was only right that we went into town and give them some support, Jack cycles for BCC Race Team and Jack who rides for Cycling Sheffield.
We got there just in time to see the females race and then shortly after we watched the men's race, with Finn Crockett and Harry Birchill coming in first and second place respectively.
Jack and James had been racing abroad and both said that the legs just were not there on the night. It was great to watch from the side lines – pint in hand.
Where is the summer?
Cycling has taken a back seat because of the weather. Its been really crap and my weekly mileage has reduced significantly.
I did manage to get out last weekend though. From Sheffield up to Tideswell and then up Monsall Head and then down to Great Longstone, on to Hassop and then up Curbar Gap. Curbar Gap is a bit ‘cheeky’, it’s the first bit that I find the hardest from the Pub at the bottom to the Telephone Box on the right. Once you have passed that its not too bad.
Anyway, enough waffling. I just wanted to say that international postage / shipping rates have been added, so we can now send to North America and Europe.
I also want to push more Instagram and want to see Bowman bike builds and jerseys, so to encourage that I have knocked 15% off framesets.
Lastly, I have started my own Bowman build. Going to go for a Candy Red I think. More on that later....
Thanks for reading.
Keep cycling – better out than in / its only rain…
